A patio cover can be as simple or as finished as you want it. On one end: a clean lean-to cover with metal roofing that puts reliable shade and rain protection over an existing patio. On the other: a full gable-roof outdoor room with a tongue-and-groove wood ceiling, ceiling fans turning overhead, recessed lighting for the evening, and space for a dining table and a seating area around a fireplace.
Pergolas play a different role — filtered light, defined space, and a built structure that makes a backyard feel designed. We build them in proportion to the house and yard, anchored properly, out of materials that weather Oklahoma seasons instead of fighting them.
Oklahoma asks a lot of an outdoor structure: summer heat, spring storms, real wind, and winter freeze-thaw. A patio cover here can't be a kit bolted to a deck board — it needs proper posts and footings, framing sized for the spans, and roofing attached like it's part of the house. That's how we build every structure, engineered for the weather it will actually face.
Attachment matters as much as the structure itself. Where a cover ties into the house, we flash and seal it so water goes where it should — protecting both the new structure and your home. Built right, a covered patio shrugs off the storm that sends everyone inside from a lesser one.
